Hi all.  Had a good meeting a couple of Fridays ago organised by the Chiropractors Association for Spinal Health Week and presented by Dr Kerein Earney.  Ballina GP Dr David Sare attended and a couple of Practice Managers from local GP practices.  One of the local councillors, Sharon Cadwallader attended and one of the Osteopathy lecturers from SCU in Lismore.  Several other people from local businesses rounded out the morning also attended by 11 local Chiropractors.

The dicussion point was consideration of a collaborative approach to patient management utilisating Chiropractic with the aim of improving patient outcomes.  It well received and followed by a very productive discussion amongst attendees.  Watch this space for further developments.

What does that mean for the average punter?  The increased likelihood that your local GP will refer you to a Chiropractor when managing patients with spinal health needs.  Plenty of good research exists to support this approach to patient management.  A recent study concluded that Chiropractic managment of neck pain was more effective than medical managment.

Yours in health.

Tim
